They took our dreams of having a hidden room into reality. The attention to detail and their hands on expertise is exactly what we needed to make our house a home. Not many builders check on the home owner months after they’ve moved in, unless it’s time for the dreaded first year touch ups. Tocara Custom Home Builders stopped by at Christmas to drop off cookies. During a particular bad storm in the area we received a text to make sure the storm cellar kept us safe! Tom and Cari care about their families; recently while Tom was out shopping for another family he came across a custom doorbell and immediately thought about us; it’s been 18 months and he is STILL fulfilling our wish list! Building a house with Tocara has been an extremely fun and rewarding process. They truly want to build the best houses for their clients. From the beginning, Tom & Cari listened to what was important to us in a house and incorporated all those things into the design. Every design of theirs is unique; they never build the same house twice. They use premium materials and construction methods, and their standard package includes a lot of upgraded features. They walk you through every room of the house in the design process and talk through the various features/upgrades available. This helps them determine your style and customize the design accordingly, and also helps prevent a lot of change orders during construction. They help you through every step of the process, and all the many choices you have to make! They give their honest opinions about the design choices, taking into account your personal tastes, but also using their years of experience to advise you along the way. They are very responsive when you contact them, and are always willing to go out of their way to help or advise you. We had built our first house with a larger, more standard builder. Building with Tocara has been such a pleasantly different experience, and we cannot recommend them enough, or imagine building with anyone else ever again.

Building with Tocara was one of the most positive, special, and exciting experiences we have had as a family. We could not imagine designing and building our family home with anyone else! Right from the very first meeting, Tom and Cari were always available and enthusiastic – be it a simple phone call or another meeting to fine tune the floorplan. At every stage of the build, Tocara was there and made us feel like a real part of the team. Our expectations were very high and we were delighted with how they were not only met, but exceeded. Tocara treated our house like they were building a home for themselves, and it was always about what we wanted – and we feel the results speak for themselves! We were excited to build our first home and talked to several builders before deciding on Tocara. They were the only builders who wanted to build the home that we wanted to build instead of trying to sell us on a floor plan that we didn’t love. They were with us every step of the way including helping us pick out tile, answering our questions after business hours, meeting with us numerous times, and fixing anything we weren’t ecstatic about. We’ve heard some people say building a house is so stressful (and it can be – there are so many choices to be made!), but we had such a wonderful experience that we wouldn’t hesitate to build with them again.
